Ngurratjuta/ Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation was established in August 1985 under the Aboriginal Corporations Act of 1976.
It is an Association of all those communities “affected” by the oil and gas mining operations at Mereenie and Palm Valley receiving the royalties payable to those affected communities and groups under the Northern Territory Land Right Act.
Ngurratjuta is therefore, principally a royalty association, with a scope of activities, covering a range of specialist support services.
There are about 70 member Communities, many of which are small Outstations. The member communities are Hermannsburg, Wallace Rockhole, Areyonga, Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Jay Creek, Mt Liebig and all the Outstations located within the broader area, including the small communities around Kings Canyon.
